Michael Jordan Sends Special Message to Russell Westbrook After MVP Win

It's not often that a player gets a special message from one of the greatest players of all time, but that's what Russell Wesbrook got from Michael Jordan after winning the NBA MVP Award.

Westbrook, who became just the second player in NBA history to avearge a triple-double for an entire season, received his MVP award on Monday night, and on Tuesday he got a special package courtesy of MJ himself.

The box included pairs of Air Jordan sneakers and this note, in which Jordan reminded Westbrook that he too won an MVP award before he captured an NBA championship:

"I got my first MVP award before my first ring too....keep going!" the message read.

The note was signed by Jordan, and Westbrook will surely appreciate the encouragement. Westbrook had to deal with losing his running mate for the 2016-17 season, as Kevin Durant signed with the Golden State Warriors and proceeded to win an NBA title with them earlier this month.

Jordan won his first MVP award in 1988, then won the award during four of the Bulls' six championship seasons between 1991 and 1998.
