Inbound and outbound trains were halted in the northern suburbs Wednesday evening after a pedestrian was struck.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., a pedestrian was struck in Glencoe by train #350, according to a Metra spokesperson. The pedestrian was struck near Park Avenue and Green Bay Road.
The incident halted all trains on the Union Pacific North Line near Glencoe, according to an update posted on Metra Rail's website. By 6:30 p.m. outbound trains were cleared to continue moving but were still experiencing extensive delays.
The train that struck the pedestrian, #350, was combined with train #352 and was scheduled to make all stops to Chicago, according to Metra's website. It was also operating with extensive delays.
The condition of the pedestrian who was struck was not immediately know.
