Metra Electric Line Trains Delayed Due to Power Outage

The outage was reported just before 6 p.m.

Trains on the Metra Electric line will experience delays after a power outage caused a temporary stoppage Friday afternoon. 

Trains were stopped up and down the line at approximately 5:50 p.m. Friday afternoon after a power outage was reported. The outage affected trains throughout the line, which runs from Millennium Station in Chicago to University Park in the south suburbs. 

At approximately 6:15 p.m., the agency said that power has been restored and trains are on the move, but riders can expect delays of up to 20-to-30 minutes.
