Teens Accused of Shooting Baby Denied Bond

The two Chicago teens charged in connection with the shooting of a 1-year-old girl earlier this week have been denied bond.

Gary Moore and Frederick Dean, both 16, were charged Wednesday as adults with two counts of attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm.

Judge Laura Sullivan on Wednesday ordered them held until trial.

The toddler and her teenage aunt were walking a dog along a South Side street on Tuesday when shots were fired.

The girl underwent brain surgery Thursday at Children's Memorial Hospital, prosecutors said.

Assistant State's Attorney John Dillon told the judge witnesses identified Moore and Dean as the gunmen. In arguing against bond, Dillon said the two "pose a real and present threat."

It wasn't immediately known if the two have legal representation.
