White Sox Place Matt Davidson on Disabled List

Davidson has 11 home runs and 28 RBI this season

The Chicago White Sox made a series of roster moves before their game against the Cleveland Indians on Monday afternoon, as they placed third baseman Matt Davidson on the disabled list.

Davidson, who has a .243 batting average with 11 home runs and 28 RBI this season, has been dealing with back spasms, was placed on the 10-day disabled list retroactive to May 25.

To replace Davidson on the active roster, the White Sox called up infielder Matt Skole from Triple-A Charlotte. Skole has five home runs, 15 RBI, and 22 walks with the Knights this season, and didn’t wait long to make an impact in the big leagues, drilling his first career home run against the Indians on Monday.

To make room for Skole on the 40-man roster, the White Sox designated right-handed pitcher Ricardo Pinto for assignment.
