Maria Pinto Leaves Mark Shale

Designer to focus on her own collections

Well that was fast.

After only seven months as creative director for Mark Shale, Chicago designer Maria Pinto has decided to call it quits, according to Crain's.

Pinto told the publication that she plans to go back to creating her own line and that she was pleased with what she was able to accomplish with Mark Shale, which included overseeing its women's collections.

Pinto rose to prominence after designing dresses for the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama.
