Man's Body Pulled From Chicago River in Loop

A man’s body was recovered Sunday evening from the Chicago River in the Loop.

The Marine Unit responded about 5 p.m. to a call of a body in the water near Wacker Drive and Van Buren Street, Chicago Police said.

A man was pulled from the water and pronounced dead at the scene, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He has not yet been identified.

An autopsy Monday did not rule on his cause and manner of death pending further investigation.

Area Central detectives were conducting a death investigation.
