A mall in suburban Detroit, Michigan shut down early Saturday evening after a man was shot and killed.
Eastland Center in Harper Woods, located northeast of Detroit, was closed as of 8:30 p.m. local time, according to a recorded phone voice message on the mall’s phone number. Normally the mall closes at 9 p.m., according to its website.
The man was shot and killed outside a Burlington Coat Factory around 6 p.m., according to NBC affiliate WDIV. Witnesses said there was a group of young men fighting outside the store when the shots were fired.
A photo posted by a WDIV reporter on twitter showed several police SUVs and crime scene tape surrounding the store.

Police took one person into custody, according to WDIV. It's unknown if the person in custody is the shooter. No other information was immediately available.
Investigators have not released an identity of the victim or a motive for the shooting.
