Man Shot in the Face During Possible Road Rage Incident

When Elmhurst police were called to a car crash on Saturday, they discovered a man who had suffered a gunshot wound to his face.

The 65-year-old man was found after what police believe may have been a road rage incident near the intersection of York and Diversey. The man was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, according to police, but his condition is unknown at this time.

The incident occurred at 2:13 p.m., according to a press release issued by the department. Police are reviewing security footage from businesses along Grand Avenue in an attempt to piece together what took place during the incident.

Police are encouraging the person in the other vehicle to turn themselves in. Anyone with information on the matter is encouraged to call police at 630-530-3050.
