A man was fatally shot in the head by a male gunman Friday night at a River North Walgreen’s store, police said.

The person was shot at 9:57 p.m. in the 300 block of West Chicago Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines, citing preliminary information.

Troy Cameron, 22, of an unidentified home address, was dead on the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. He was shot multiple times.

Sources said the shooting happened at the Walgreen’s store at 315 W. Chicago Ave.

The victim was a security guard at the store, sources said. It was unknown if the man was the intended target.
