Man Runs Over Attacker Before Dying from Fatal Shot

A Chicago man who was shot in a Marquette Park robbery Thursday reportedly chased down and ran over his attacker before he died.

The robbery took place just before 3 p.m. Thursday in the 6400 block of South Spaulding Avenue on the Southwest Side when Dorvell Gogins allegedly entered the home armed, police said.

Gogins left the home, but a 27-year-old man inside chased him in a gold Lexus, striking Gogins in the 6300 block of South Kedzie Avenue, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Police said it appeared Jeremiah Brown was shot during the confrontation on South Kedzie Avenue where he was found dead. Gogins was found at the scene with injuries to both legs, police said, and was transported to Mount Sinai for treatment.

Brown was pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound to the torso, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Gogins, of the 7000 block of South Hermitage Avenue, was charged with one felony count of murder and armed home invasion, police said. He is expected to appear in court Sunday.
