A 53-year-old man is dead after he was shot in Chicago’s Lake View neighborhood on Thursday evening, according to police.
Authorities say that the man was inside of a vehicle in the 3700 block of North Ashland at approximately 4:14 p.m. when a man in a white SUV approached and a man inside opened fire, striking the victim in the neck.
The man was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in critical condition, and later succumbed to his injuries, police said.
Area North detectives are continuing to investigate the shooting, and no arrests have been made.
