Man Injured in Norwood Park Road Rage Shooting

The man was driving when another person fired shots through his back windshield

A 23-year-old man was hospitalized after another man fired shots at him during an alleged road rage incident in Norwood Park, according to Chicago police.

According to authorities, the man was driving his car in the 6100 block of West Devon at approximately 11:10 p.m. Saturday when a road rage incident occurred between him and two occupants of a silver Hyundai Elantra.

A man and a woman were inside the Hyundai at the time of the incident, and one of the individuals fired shots at the man, striking his back windshield.

Originally police believed the man had been shot, but further investigation revealed that he had been injured either by the glass from the windshield or by the headrest, which was hit by one of the bullets fired.

The man was taken to Lutheran General Hospital, where his condition has stabilized.

Neither of the alleged assailants in the case is in custody, and Area North detectives are continuing to investigate the case.
