A man's body was found outside a suburban day care Tuesday morning in what police believe may have been a suicide.
The Western Springs Police Department said it was called just before 6:30 a.m. for a man who was found unresponsive outside the Bright Horizons Daycare Center at 4700 Commonwealth Ave.
Officers arrived to find the man with a gunshot wound to his head, police said.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and "performed life-saving measures on the victim," according to authorities, but he was ultimately transported to Hinsdale Hospital and pronounced dead.
A preliminary investigation indicated the shooting was an "isolated incident and an apparent suicide," police said.
Bright Horizons was closed Tuesday as police continued to investigate.
