Man Found Dead in Oak Park Public Library Identified

A man who was found dead in a west suburban library Monday morning has been identified.

At 10:30 a.m., a security person found the man dead in a locked, single-use bathroom on the third floor of the Oak Park Public Library’s at 834 Lake St., according to a statement from the library’s executive director David Seleb.

He has since been identified as 48-year-old Todd Leslie, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. His home address was not immediately known; and an autopsy did not rule on cause or manner of death, with results pending further investigation.

Oak Park police said there was no evidence of violence or foul play.

The library’s main floor was closed to the public for about two hours after the man was found.

“This tragedy has shocked all of us,” Seleb said in the statement.
