A man drowned after jumping into Lake Michigan on Saturday afternoon, the Chicago Fire Department said.
According to the Department, a 22-year-old man jumped into the water near the Shedd Aquarium at approximately 3:40 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
The victim was under water for 15 minutes, and was later found unresponsive during a rescue by the Fire Department and lifeguards.
The man was taken to Northwestern Hospital in serious-to-critical condition, and was pronounced dead.
