Police busted an Elgin man Monday with smoking pot at a McDonald's drive-thru.
They didn't have to go far to catch him.
Police say Jose S. Barrera, 21, was caught smoking while an officer waited in line directly behind him.
The officer said he smelled burning marijuana and saw Barrera blowing smoke out of the passenger-side window.
He stopped the car for a traffic violation and found a Tupperware container full of pot in the car.
Barrera was charged with possession of cannabis and released on bond.
