Man Arrested After Allegedly Firing Shots at Chinatown Security Guard

A man is in custody after he allegedly fired multiple shots at a security guard in the city’s Chinatown neighborhood on Wednesday.

The incident took place at the Archer Court Apartments in the 2200 block of South Stewart, according to Chicago police. At approximately 1:25 p.m., a 30-year-old man allegedly threatened a 41-year-old security guard at the complex, and after that confrontation he allegedly pulled out a gun and fired several shots at her.

According to police, none of the shots struck the victim, and police put the man into custody a short time later.

Police also recovered a weapon rom the scene, and according to News Affairs charges are pending against the man in connection with the case.
