Two children and a 27-year-old man were shot Wednesday on the city’s West Side, police said.
All three people were shot in the 5500 block of West Van Buren Street in the city’s Austin neighborhood. The man drove himself and the two kids to Mt. Sinai Hospital about 3:59 p.m. The 27-year-old had been shot in the chest and was in critical condition, police said. A boy in the car suffered a graze wound to the leg and a girl was shot in the leg.
The children’s ages were not immediately known.
Area North detectives were investigating.
