Shaw Decremer, a lobbyist and top ally of House Speaker Michael Madigan, continued to see his customer base shrink this week in the wake of sexual harassment allegations from across Springfield that came to light last month.
According to the Secretary of State’s Lobbyist Registry Index, four additional organizations ended their relationship with Decremer at the start of the month: the Chicago Commons Association, the International Brotherhood Of Electrical Workers (Local Union 134) the City of Blue Island, and the Illinois County Treasurers Association.
NBC 5 reported earlier this week that Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) and Bolin Brittan Consulting had dropped Decremer from their roster of Springfield lobbyists.
While Bolin Brittan did not comment on the allegations, a spokesperson for ComEd confirmed that the company had terminated their contract with Decremer after it “learned of the situation.”
Decremer, along with the rest of his remaining client list — Citgo Petroleum Corporation, Dish Network, Draftkings Inc., Fanduel Inc., the Gun Violence Prevention Action Committee, Illinois Coalition of Appraisal Professionals, Illinois State Medical Society, Ismie Mutual Insurance Company, K-12, Inc., and V.S.S. Inc — could not be reached for comment regarding the allegations.
Last year, Gov. Bruce Rauner signed into law Senate Bill 402, amending the Lobbyist Registration Act to address sexual harassment. Among other things, the law required lobbyists registering in Illinois to submit an “Anti-Sexual Harassment Compliance” form.
According to the Secretary of State’s records, Decremer submitted his Jan. 19. 2018 — exactly one month before NBC 5 first reported the allegations against him from political staffers and state lawmakers in Springfield.

As the political scandal surrounding Madigan’s political operation continues to swirl, the Speaker held a surprise news conference Tuesday to reveal nine allegations of harassment and discrimination his office had received in the last five years.
He also sent a letter to the other top leaders suggesting they do the same.
