Loyola Fans in Frenzy Over Final Four Tickets

It’s the Cinderella story of the NCAA tournament and Loyola fans want tickets to the Big Dance.

Fans at Loyola University are looking up tickets, hotels and flights for San Antonio to cheer the Ramblers on in person during the upcoming semi-finals.

Ticket broker Steve Buzil said it’s not just fans buying Final Four tickets.

“Been getting a lot of interest, you know, Loyola-wise,” he said. “We get a lot of Chicago corporations jumping on the bandwagon to take their clients.”

StubHub is selling tickets starting at $222 each—just for Saturday’s Final Four games.

“My belief is ticket prices will come down at least 20 to 30 percent,” Buzil said. “So I would wait in buying tickets.”

In addition to tickets, Ramblers gear is flying off the shelves at Loyola University’s bookstore.

According to bookstore manager Michael School, scarves, bobbleheads, Polos and shot glasses are among the popular items mix.

Not to mention, Sister Jean bobbleheads are already sold out until June. The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame says it’s the bestselling bobblehead ever—more than 5,000 were sold in just 2 days.

Prospective students say Loyola’s basketball success is influencing their top college choice.

“After visiting it and after this, it’s number 1,” said Vikram Wood.

Tickets to Monday’s championship are currently as low as $124 online and could drop even more after Saturday’s games, when the losing teams’ fans sell their championship tickets.

”They’re dumping the tickets for the following game because they don’t care,” Buzil said.

Venue experts say the best overall value is buying a ticket combo that includes both Saturday’s Final Four and Monday’s championship.

In addition, experts urge fans to beware of counterfeit tickets and suggest purchasing game tickets from a reputable seller.
