Chicago School Named One of Most Eco-Friendly Colleges in America

Loyola may have been in the news all year because of their Cinderella run to the NCAA Final Four, but the Chicago school has another incredible claim to fame according to a new ranking.

That ranking, conducted by College Magazine, says that Loyola’s campus is one of the most eco-friendly in the entire nation. In fact, Loyola cracked the top five in the ranking, the only Illinois school to place that highly.

“Zero waste biodiesel production process since 2007, rainwater utilization, and multipurpose soap: what do all of these things have in common? The answer: Loyola University Chicago,” the publication wrote.

The piece also cited Loyola’s offering of six different majors within its Environmental Department, and its emphasis on sustainability among its students.

Colby College, UC Davis, Dickinson College, and Pomona College were the top four schools listed in the ranking.
