Here are some of the rock-bottom temperatures commuters battled through Thursday morning in nearby counties, according to the National Weather Service:

• DeKalb County -13°
• Will County -13°
• Kane, County -12°
• Cook County -12°
• DuPage, County -12°
• Lake County, Indiana -10°
• Livingston County -6°
• Ford County -5°
