Cops Warn of Phones Snatched From Pedestrians in Loop

Even with a noticeable police presence there's been a rash of Loop cellphone thefts from people's hands, pockets and purses.

Chicago police say the most recent thefts happened on the 100 block of South Wabash Avenue, the 100 block of East Madison Street and the 300 block of South Dearborn. Often near a quick escape underground train stop.

Police put out a community alert Sunday warning residents in the area that the phones were being snatched from hands, pockets and purses during the daytime hours.

Police ask that if you have any information regarding the crimes you call the bureau of detectives at 312-747-8384.
