Lollapalooza Lineup Receives “C” Average in Unofficial Survey

The lineup features Paul McCartney, Metallica and Florence + the Machine as the headline acts

[NATL] Stars Shine at Lollapalooza 2014

The Lollapalooza lineup announced Wednesday apparently made a passing grade, but it did not wow potential festival-goers.

NBC Chicago asked viewers what grade they would give the lineup, and 26 percent of them marked it as a "C" average. About 19 percent gave the lineup a "B," and another 19 percent gave it an "F." A total of 1,076 people responded to our survey.

The headline acts for the three-day festival are Paul McCartney, Metallica and Florence + the Machine. Other big-name acts include Sam Smith, Bassnectar, The Weeknd and The Chainsmokers.

Last year's acts included Eminem, Outkast, Kings of Leon, Lorde and the Avett Brothers. In 2013, The Cure, Mumford and Sons, The Killers and Nine Inch Nails, among others, performed at the festival.

Discounted three-day passes went on sale the day before the 2015 lineup was announced and sold out in less than two hours.

The festival takes place in Grant Park from July 31 through Aug. 2.
