It could be a messy commute home for motorists as an overturned semi trailer is blocking the outbound lanes on the Dan Ryan Expressway.
According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, the outbound lanes are blocked in the local lanes of the expressway. The accident took place just south of 39th Street on the highway, snarling traffic and forcing road closures.
With rush hour approaching and heavy rain falling, motorists are being encouraged to use the express lanes.
