Don't panic. Snow is headed for Chicago, but it won't last.

As temperatures slowly fall Wednesday evening, rain showers could mix with snow then change to flurries. The white stuff isn't expected to stick, though, as Thursday gives way to sun.

NBC Chicago's Andy Avalos predicts a big range of temperatures on Wednesday, from 40s in most of the metro area to 30s in the northern suburbs and low to mid-50s in southern areas. It levels off Thursday with 30-degree temps through much of the weekend.

Snow with the most potential to stick could come our way Saturday, but accumulation is expected to be minimal.

Be sure to recover the warm coat you might have put away for spring and keep an umbrella handy just in case.
