Lauryn Hill Tosses Fan From Chicago Concert

Grammy Award-winning singer didn't care for fan's reaction to late start of performance

Grammy Award-winning singer Lauryn Hill demands respect from her audience, even if they don't feel she's respected their schedules.

The former Fugees member took to the stage at Chicago's House of Blues nearly an hour late last week, and when a fan checked her on it and heckled her, she called him out and asked security to escort him out of the building, according to video posted to TMZ.com.

But she did offer the fan a refund.

"Don't be disrespectful," she told the fan. "You can go. ... If a little patience is too much, it's OK, you can go. I would prefer that." ... "I do this because I love it not because I owe you anything, you understand that?" ... "You can get on the blogs and you can tweet and you can say whatever you want to. I don't give a rat's ass."

According to the TMZ report, other fans were later seen at the box office also asking for refunds.
