A suburban dad has claimed Internet fame after his Instagram photos of his kids and a collection of coffee mugs went viral.
Lance Curran, of Mount Prospect, takes photos of his two children while holding up a superhero (or villain) mug over their faces to create the adorable illusion that his kids are big-headed heroes. The hilarious photos inspired the hashtag #breakfastmugshot, prompting parents all over the world to copy Curran's photos with their own children.
Curran takes the superhero business seriously in his work as well. He is a co-creator of Chicago-based Arcade Brewery, which combines the founders' love for comics with their love for craft beer. The result is a beer bottle that drinkers may not want to throw out. The owners employ comic book artists and writers to help design the beer label and packaging.
