    Jogger Attacked at Lakefront Trail

    Chicago police are searching for a suspect after a woman was assaulted on the Lakefront Trail on the city’s North Side Sunday morning. NBC 5's Lexi Sutter reports.

    Chicago police are searching for a suspect after a woman was assaulted on the Lakefront Trail on the city’s North Side Sunday morning.

    According to police, a 30-year-old woman was jogging on the trail in the 3700 block of North Recreation Drive on Sunday when a man pushed her to the ground and began to choke her. The woman began to scream and fought back against the suspect, and was able to run away.

    The woman refused medical treatment, but the suspect escaped.

    According to police, the man is described as an African-American in his late 20’s or early 30’s, wearing a bright red shirt, long pants, and had light facial hair and dreadlocks.

    Area North detectives are investigating, and ask anyone with information to contact police.
