Third Lake Forest High School Student Struck, Killed by Train

Latest victim is Edward Schutt, son of Lake Forest College president

Officials say the third student from a suburban Chicago school struck and killed by a Metra train this year is the son of Lake Forest College's president.

President Stephen Schutt says the victim discovered early Sunday morning was his son, Lake Forest High School senior Edward Schutt.

Police said it appeared Schutt, 18, had been struck by a train and Lake County coroner Artis Yancey said his injuries were consistent with such an incident.

Schutt's body will be examined to determine if an autopsy is needed.

Stephen Schutt has been president of Lake Forest College since 2001.

Two students at the school were killed in separate incidents this year. Freshman William Laskero-Teskoski was killed in late February and Faris Hussain was killed in early January.
