Lake Effect Snow Showers Possible in NW Indiana

Conditions may be dry for most of the Chicago area Thursday afternoon, but for parts of northwest Indiana and southwest Michigan the moisture may return.

A lake effect snow band could bring accumulating snow to parts of the Michiana snow belt late Thursday and into Friday as temperatures dip into the 20s overnight.

While it’s not clear where exactly the spotty lake effect snow bands will develop, some areas could see an inch or two of snow during the overnight hours.

Winds will also shift out of the northwest Thursday with gusts of up to 40 mph possible.

The snow and wind move in as conditions take a cold turn, bringing highs Friday in the low- to mid-20s with partly sunny skies.
