Lake Effect Snow Could Impact Morning Rush Hour

Lake-effect snow could impact Chicago during the Monday morning rush hour.

According to forecasts, less than an inch of snow is expected, but it could still have an impact on motorists driving to the city for the start of the work week.

The city of Chicago announced Sunday that it would deploy 211 snow plows to respond to the snow, which is forecasted to begin on Sunday night and continue through a good part of the day Monday. Salt spreaders will focus on Lake Shore Drive and arterial routes, according to the city.

Slippery road conditions could be caused by the snow, and motorists are urged to use appropriate care when driving.
