The L.A. Auto Show wrapped up last weekend, which means Chicago's show is just around the corner.

Here's a look at some of the favorites that are likely to make a statement in Chicago this year.

According to Cars.com, L.A.'s Auto Show saw a slew of environmentally friendly vehicles along with the usual luxury cars. Some of the editors' picks included the 2015 Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell and Toyota's 2014 Highlander Hybrid. Fuel cell cars differ from hybrid vehicles because they run entirely on hydrogen, and Cars' editors expressed excitement over the affordable and technologically advanced Tucson.

L.A. also turned heads with every day vehicles like the 2014 Mini Cooper Hardtop. The new model boasts comfortable seats and new interior technology, according to Cars. The 2015 Chevrolet Colorado was also a popular choice because it serves a demographic that appreciates smaller pickup trucks.

However, the L.A. Auto Show also showcased some duds. Cars' editors were unimpressed by the new Honda Civic and Ford Edge Concept, calling both designs unoriginal and average at best.

The Chicago Auto Show is scheduled for Feb. 8-17 at McCormick Place, following Detroit's show in January. Online ticket sales are now open and will remain active until the show.
