Kyle Schwarber popped the question to his longtime girlfriend Paige Hartman, the couple announced Monday.

She posted the same photo on Instagram with the caption "Christmas came early last night! Such a perfect night! I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend!!"

The Cubs shared their own joy for the couple as well, tweeting a message of congratulations. [[503054261, C]]

The two are high school sweethearts, according to a photo Hartman posted on Instagram in 2016 of the couple at their senior prom more than five years earlier.

No word on a wedding date yet, but here's hoping they've got other plans in October.
