Kyle Orton Sues Chicago Law Firm

Kyle Orton is suing a Chicago law firm over what he calls a bad investment that cost him a huge chunk of cash.

The former Bear filed a lawsuit Thursday against Chuhak & Tecson, the firm he says gave him negligent legal advice to invest in oil and gas partnerships that were supposed to result in big tax credits.

According to the lawsuit, Chuhak & Tecson placed Orton and others in a series of partnerships in 2005, assuring tax benefits through the deal.

The benefits not only didn't materialize, according to the lawsuit, but the partnerships didn’t meet legal statutory requirements for the credits. Orton said in the suit that he and other investors lost millions.

The complaint seeks more than $200,000 in damages for each of four counts citing misrepresentation and negligence.
