The Chicago Blackhawks came into Monday's game looking to get some momentum going after two tough Central Division losses, but the Los Angeles Kings had other ideas as they walloped the defending champions 5-0.
Tyler Toffoli scored his 25th goal of the season on Monday, and Jonathan Quick stopped all 32 shots that he faced as the Blackhawks were shut out for the seventh time this season.
Kris Versteeg also added a goal against his former team to add insult to injury, and Dustin Brown ended a lengthy scoring drought with a third period goal that put the game completely out of reach.
Meanwhile, Joel Quenneville tried to mix up his lines as the game wore on, but nothing seemed to get his team fired up. Corey Crawford allowed five goals in just 24 shots as he was peppered early and often with quality chances.
