A man is in custody after apparently trying to jump from a Near West Side overpass onto the Kennedy Expressway Tuesday night.
Police responded near Milwaukee Avenue and Augusta Boulevard about 7:30 p.m. after being warned a man wanted to jump from the Augusta overpass onto the expressway below, police said.
Illinois State Police also responded to assist, but officers were able to take hold of the man and took him into custody, police said.
Further details were not immediately available.
