Scholarship Fund Created in Honor of Slain Teen

Kelli O'Laughlin was stabbed to death last week after she apparently walked into a burglary after school, police said

A scholarship fund has been created in honor of a 14-year-old girl who was murdered in her Indian Head Park home last week.

The Kelli Joy O'Laughlin Memorial Fund will keep the memory of the teen alive through future educational opportunities for other young people, her family said in a statement.

Kelli O'Laughlin was stabbed to death after she apparently walked into a burglary after school, police said.

The scholarship fund is in the form of a donor-advised fund facilitated by the Chicago Community Trust.
