Chicago Cubs reliever Justin Grimm lost his arbitration case against the team, according to multiple reports.

Grimm, who had a 5.53 ERA and struck out 59 batters in 55 innings of work, was seeking just under $2.5 million, but he will be paid $2.2 million after the first ever arbitration case of Theo Epstein’s tenure in Chicago.

Grimm rejoins a Cubs bullpen that is sporting a new look this season, as they will add pieces like Steve Cishek and Brandon Morrow as they attempt to replace Hector Rondon and Wade Davis.

According to the Associated Press, players have now won seven of the 11 arbitration cases heard by judges this spring, and there are still 12 cases left to be heard between now and Feb. 16.
