Chicago Bulls

With Green Out, Jordan Bell to Start vs. Bulls

For the second time this season, the Chicago Bulls will be forced to go up against a player that they gave up for cash at last year’s NBA Draft.

The Golden State Warriors will visit the United Center on Wednesday to play the Bulls, and with Draymond Green and Andre Igoudala out of the lineup, the Warriors will start Jordan Bell at power forward.

If the name rings a “Bell,” there’s a reason for that. Bell is the player the Warriors selected with a pick they acquired from the Bulls in the second round of last year’s draft. The Bulls received a payment of $3.5 million, and Bell has turned into a useful weapon for the defending NBA champions.

Bell got his first career start against the Bulls earlier this season, and while he only had seven points and six rebounds, he also racked up six blocks as the Warriors steamrolled the Bulls in a 49-point blowout.

So far this season, Bell has averaged just 5.2 points and 4.0 rebounds per game, but had some strong games in December, including his first career double-double in a win over the Los Angeles Lakers.
