Anderson Re-Signed, Gentry Waived by Bears

The h#mce_temp_url# made a roster move on Saturday, signing Jonathan Anderson back onto their active roster and waiving wide receiver Tanner Gentry.

Anderson, who has appeared in six games and registered three tackles for the Bears this season, was likely brought back onto the 53-man roster because of the health status of linebacker Danny Trevathan. Trevatahn, who was suspended for a game after his hit on Davante Adams the last time the Bears and Green Bay Packers met, hasn’t practiced this week with an ankle injury, and he might not be able to go Sunday.

In Anderson’s career, he has played 25 games and registered 34 tackles and an interception.

For Gentry, he will likely be re-signed by the team if he clears waivers, but it’s another setback for a receiver still trying to find a regular place on the team. Gentry has three catches for 35 yards this season, but he’s yet to find the consistent chemistry with quarterback Mitchell Trubisky that the duo exhibited at times during the preseason.

With Gentry out of the mix, look for a steady diet of Markus Wheaton and Dontrelle Inman, who will be making his Bears debut on Sunday against Green Bay.
