‘Game of Thrones' Actors Served Meal on a Sword at Chicago's Alinea

Chef Grant Achatz posted a video of himself on Instagram serving the unique dish on a sword, which he said his team bought him for his birthday

What does one serve the former King of the North, Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch and Dragon Queenslayer?

If you’re famed Chicago chef Grant Achatz that answer is frozen aerated Meyer lemon on a nitro frozen Longclaw.

Actor Kit Harington, who starred as Jon Snow in the hit fantasy-drama “Game of Thrones,” and his co-star Gwendoline Christie, who played Brienne of Tarth, stopped by Achatz’s restaurant Alinea over the weekend. The pair were in town for the Ace Universe Comic Con Midwest, which was held in Rosemont Saturday and Sunday.

It’s not uncommon for Halloween trick-or-treaters to know which houses give out the best candy – and that was exactly the inspiration behind a suburban man’s viral post on his community group’s Facebook page last month.

Achatz posted a video of himself on Instagram serving the unique dish on a sword, which he said his team bought him for his birthday.

“What do you get a guy that has no hobbies and works all the time? Myself, like everyone else in the world, loved @gameofthrones and would use story lines or show quotes during preservice meetings as analogies to service issues for inspiration or problem solving,” he wrote. “So the team had a genius idea to get me LongClaw as a gift. When I got it I told them someday we will serve a course on this sword. Last night we had the perfect opportunity!”

The post shows a photo of Achatz and Harington together along with a photo of the sword, signed by Jon Snow.

“Grant thanks for the amazing meal!” the message on the sword reads.

Chicago may only be the Midwest, but it appears Jon Snow is still living like the King of the North.
