Family and friends gathered in a Lake Forest funeral home today to mourn the passing of "Ferris Bueller" director John Hughes.
The funeral was attended by colleagues such as Vince Vaughn.
Hughes, hallowed as the scribe behind the 80s teen movie wave -- "Breakfast Club", "Pretty in Pink", and the aforementioned "Bueller" most prominent among them -- lived and worked in the North Shore. He died last Thursday of a heart attack in Manhattan. He was 59.
The service at Wenban Funeral Home was invitation only. Security personnel checked off names at the door.
