Jennifer Hudson Stars in Jury Questionnaire

Questions include, "Have you ever watched 'American Idol?'"

"Have you seen the movie 'Dreamgirls?'"

That's one of many questions asked in a jury questionnaire distributed this week ahead of the Chicago trial for the man accused of killing three members of singer-actress Jennifer Hudson's family.

William Balfour, 30, the estranged husband of Hudson's sister, Julia, is accused of killing Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson; her 29-year-old brother, Jason Hudson; and her 7-year-old nephew, Julian King. Balfour's trial begins April 23.

In a 66-question survey meant to select 12 jurors and six alternates, about 12 questions center in one way or another on the Grammy Award-winning singer and actress.

Questions include "Have you ever watched 'American Idol?'"

Jurors also are asked whether they belong to an organization for which Hudson is a spokesperson, if they've seen her on TV, watched a movie she acted in, read any books by her, seen her perform in person, or read any Hudson magazine or newspaper interviews.

"Do you know Jennifer Hudson personally?" the court wants to know.

The questionnaire asks about media coverage, as well.

"This case has been covered by numerous media outlets because the people who were killed in the incidents underlying the case were relatives of Jennifer Hudson. Have you heard, seen, or read anything, at all, about this case?"

Jurors must put check marks next to any media outlets and programs that carried any coverage they might have seen or heard.

Jury selection began this week and is expected to last two to three days.
