Jeb Bush's Wife, Son Raise Funds in Chicago

Columba Bush and Jeb Bush, Jr. are scheduled to make appearances at a luncheon at the Union League Club

The wife and son of GOP presidential hopeful Jeb Bush will hit Chicago Thursday for a fundraising event.

Columba Bush and Jeb Bush, Jr. are scheduled to make appearances at a luncheon at the Union League Club, located at 65 West Jackson Blvd., according to Lynn Sweet in the Chicago Sun-Times.

Seats at the luncheon cost between $2,500 and $250,000 and will fund the Bush super pac "Right to Rise," Sweet reported.

Columba isn't known to be a political heavy hitter for her husband, but she has lately taken the reins on several fundraising events, particularly in Florida, to support Jeb. The Wall Street Journal reported that Columba headlined a fundraising event in Miami Beach last week and is scheduled to headline another in Miami later this month.

Jeb Bush, Jr. has also been quiet on the campaign trail until now, but he brought his dad into the spotlight in April when he revealed that Jeb Sr. accidently identified himself as Hispanic on a voter registration form. Both Jebs made light of the situation in a father-son Twitter exchange.

Although Bush himself will not be at the fundraising event, the former Florida governor is no stranger to fundraising in Chicago. In September, Bush made his way to Chicago to headline a fundraiser for Bruce Rauner, who was then running for governor. In 2010, Bush also attended an event supporting GOP gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady.

Bush's own backers in the Chicago area are many of the same locals who supported Mitt Romney in 2012, according to Sweet.
