Illinois Governor-elect J.B. Pritzker has been playing things very close to the vest when it comes to the entertainment at his Inaugural Celebration this week in Springfield, and there could be a really good reason for that.
Speculation over who will perform at the event has been rampant, and sources have told NBC 5 that legendary singer Paul McCartney will headline the event, which will take place on Monday night after Pritzker is sworn in as Illinois’ new governor.
The incoming governor's team declined to comment on the selection for the party.
The party will take place at the Exposition Building at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, where party-goers were shelling out $250 apiece to be a part of the celebration.
Pritzker will be sworn in as Illinois’ new governor in Springfield on Monday afternoon.
When current Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner was sworn in at his 2015 inauguration, country star Toby Keith was among the musical acts that performed.
