Javier Báez, Jason Heyward Return to Cubs' Lineup Friday

Báez missed Thursday's game with an illness, while Heyward missed the team's last two games

The Chicago Cubs will get back two of their most important offensive weapons on Friday night, as Javier Báez and Jason Heyward will both return to the team's lineup against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Báez missed Thursday night's game against the Phillies due to an illness, and was a late scratch from Joe Maddon's original lineup. He will be back in the mix on Friday night in Pittsburgh, batting fifth and playing shortstop against the Pirates.

The Cubs will also welcome back Heyward after the outfielder missed two games with inflammation in his left knee. Heyward will once again bat lead-off for the Cubs against the Pirates, and will play center field.

Addison Russell, who was recalled from Iowa prior to Friday's game, will not get the start at second base. That spot will go to Tony Kemp, who was used as a pinch-hitter in Thursday's loss against the Phillies.
