Jason Aldean to Bring Night Train Tour to Wrigley Field

Tickets on sale Nov. 3 for July 20 show

After rumors swirled about who would headline Wrigley Field's popular concert series, officials on Thursday confirmed that country music lovers will be able to take the Night Train as it rolls through Chicago.

The 2013 Night Train Tour, headlined by Country Music Association Entertain of the Year Jason Aldean, will visit The Windy City on July 20, 2013. The show will also feature Kelly Clarkson, Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett.

"We've been lucky enough to sell out the amphitheater in Chicago a few times, and I'm excited to take this next step up to Wrigley Field," said Aldean. "This has always been an awesome city for us, and we're going to pay the Chicago fans back by throwing the biggest party of the summer."

Aldean, a Georgia native, released his fifth album last week. His last album sold 2.5 million copies.

The Rolling Stones and Pearl Jam circulated as other potential artists to hit the Friendly Confines, but the Tribune's Greg Kot said music insiders told him Wrigley could be too small for the Stones.

Tickets for the Night Train Tour will go on sale Saturday, Nov. 3 at 10 a.m. and will be available on LiveNation.com, Tickets.com or by calling 800-THE-CUBS.

Tickets for the first Bruce Springsteen concert in September sold out in less than an hour, and a second show was added. Other big names to grace the field have included Dave Matthews Band, Elton John and Billy Joel.
