A Chicago man was scheduled to appear in bond court Wednesday on allegations he robbed several people at gunpoint while claiming to be a police officer.

James Blackman, 46, was charged with three counts of armed robbery with a firearm, one count of aggravated robbery, five counts of impersonating a police officer and one count of aggravated kidnapping and issuance of a warrant, police said.

Authorities said Blackman, of the 6400 block of South Morgan Street, identified himself as "Officer Franklin" to at least four victims before robbing them at gunpoint.

The robberies occurred in the 7000 block of South Justine Street, the 8000 block of South Oakley Avenue, the 7700 block of South Colfax Avenue and the 8100 block of South Colfax Avenue.
